Forlorn

This small bronze sculpture, located at the LHUCA encourages viewers to view the piece from all angles, and notice the various forms of manipulation of the steel used to create the piece. Although ubiquitous in our daily lives, Wakefield says he “considers the former purpose, location, and interaction of the steel with the craftsman of the past.” The sculpture is intended to make viewers reflect on the history of the materials they are encountering, and make them question their ideas concerning thoughts of the past, relationships, stress, and other shared emotions between human beings.
