Prometheus

Located at the Student Union Building, this bronze sculpture represents the Greek Titan, Prometheus. He known for taking fire from heaven, and giving it to man. Prometheus is a symbol of knowledge, and destroyer of the shadows of ignorance, which explains his placement on campus. The piece was created by internationally recognized bronze sculptor Charles Umlauf, who currently holds the top position for artist with the largest amount of public art in the state of Texas.
