On the Banks of the Bosque

This 19 piece collection of steers has taken over 12 years to instal and is made possible by the generous donations of individual foundations. The project itself is a perfect representation of the history of Texas and is central piece in the Nation Ranching Heritage Center’s collection. The piece remembers the Texas Trail Divide Era. Each steer represents a brand of the foundation that donated them. Not only does this collection feature the steers, but it also features a cowboy and his horse resting by the stream built by Paul Nash. The cowboy was donated by Red Steagall and friends.
